Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

I enjoy the variety of seeing patients in clinic as well as getting to be “hands on” when doing procedures. I also appreciate that many symptoms and diseases in GI are treatable so even if there’s not a “cure” we can make quality of life better.

Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?

I actually enjoy the variety in gastroenterology allowing me to see patients with stomach ulcers, esophageal disease, or bowel symptoms all on the same day. I did do additional training in female-specific gastrointestinal disorders during my fellowship.

Where did you study?

Undergrad: Austin College, Medical School: Texas A&M, Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship: Brown University.

What certifications do you hold?

Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy water skiing, travel, and camping with them. Also love watching my son play soccer and my daughter compete in gymnastics.

Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?

I have published articles in multiple medical journals and presented research at the American Gastroenterological Association annual meeting.

Please list your professional affiliations.

American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Texas Medical Association and Tarrant County Medical Society.

Alert: Phone Scam Warning

We’re seeing an increase in phone scams targeting patients. Callers may pose as Medicare, your doctor’s office, or another healthcare provider to obtain your Medicare number or other personal information.

Please remember:

  • Never share your Medicare number, Social Security number, or banking information with unsolicited callers.
  • Medicare will never call you unexpectedly to request your number or personal details.
  • Be wary of offers for “free” medical equipment or services in exchange for your Medicare information.
  • If a call seems suspicious, hang up and contact the clinic where you receive care directly using the phone number listed on our website for that location.

To report a suspicious call: Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or visit reportfraud.ftc.gov.
