About Christie Choi, M.D.
Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
It was one of those things where I knew after my first rotation as a 3rd year medical student that I wanted to pursue GI. I feel that there is something universally relatable about symptoms affecting the GI tract and I enjoy the aspect of caring for patients in this arena.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I enjoy the variety throughout the field of digestive & liver diseases, but do carry an interest in Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis) and gastric cancer and its predispositions.
Where did you study?
I attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, completed internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL and completed my GI fellowship at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX.
What certifications do you hold?
Board certified in Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
My two young children keep my husband and I busy! You can often find us riding bikes and scooters around outside… usually to go get ice cream!
Do you fluently speak any other languages in addition to English
Korean

Reviews
All staff members in this office serve with care and compassion. From the check-in desk to post-op, I was met by friendly and helpful nurses. Dr. Choi was a gem. She explained the procedures and answered all my questions. The PA, Pauline, was also helpful and attentive. I got answers I needed and medications that work. Thank you!
Dr Choi established rapport prior to jumping into the issue of the appointment. She was very thorough to avoid any issues from slipping through the cracks. I would highly recommend her to anyone with gastroenterologoical concerns.
Dr. Choi’s team was awesome to prepare the procedure and very professional, even kind and friendly.
Dr.Choi is wonderful. Getting colonoscopy and endoscopy is never something I want to do, but Dr. Choi’s bedside manner made me very comfortable, she explained everything to me and really seems to care. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a gastroenterologist.
I had gastroscopy and enteroscopy at the same time. I did it under sedation, but it was so comfortable that I woke up to a sound and the first thing I said was, "Have you started yet?" Also, English was not good enough, but it was convenient to make a reservation. He sent me a detailed schedule and address by e-mail, and I trusted him more because he was a Korean doctor. Even after the examination, the attending physician told me that he explained the details of my examination to the attending physician. Also, I was very grateful that Mr. Choi called me directly and told me how to take medicine and did his best for the patient. It is a very good hospital for Koreans.
