TDDC Raises Over $5k for Colorectal Cancer Research in Annual DFW Undy Run
On Saturday, November 11th TDDC sponsored and participated in the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s (CCA) annual DFW Undy Run/Walk. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a nonprofit organization that hosts Undy Runs across the country with the goal of ending colorectal cancer.
The TDDC team consisted of 290 registered participants which included physicians, staff, friends, and family members. Each participant took part in a timed 5k or a 1-mile fun run/walk. TDDC won the “Largest Team” award at the event and came in 2nd place for the “Top Fundraising Team” by raising $5,725 in donations. Overall, TDDC was able to contribute $16,900 to CCA between sponsorship, donations, and registrations.
“We had a great turnout and I’m so proud of our staff for participating and raising funds for this great cause. Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. and raising awareness for its prevention is very important to us. We want to educate people about screening colonoscopies which are the most effective way to detect colon cancer,” says TDDC President & CEO Dr. Weber who ran the 5k.
