Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
Compared to conditions such as hypertension or diabetes in which one might not experience significant symptoms regularly, patients can experience GI symptoms so regularly that it affects their work and social life, whether the symptom is bloating, diarrhea, constipation, or reflux. I find it rewarding when I can help patients overall feel better so that they can live better in their everyday lives.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
Although I treat all GI issues, I have a particular interest in preventative care and liver diseases, specifically fatty liver. For this reason, I tend to discuss lifestyle, such as diet and exercise, with my patients – small changes in everyday life that can decrease risk of developing certain conditions and overall improve health!
What Can Patients Expect?
I have always believed in treating the patient and not their symptoms. What patients can expect is personalized care focusing not only on the symptoms they are experiencing but also on their lifestyle and habits outside of the clinic that may be contributing to the root cause of their condition.

Outside of medicine, I love to spend time with my family, try new restaurants, and spend time outdoors running, hiking, or playing tennis.
