I served as a staff gastroenterology and hepatology physician for the military flagship medical institution at the San Antonio Military Medical Center, teaching and mentoring GI training physicians during my tenure.
Why Gastroenterology?
I love the diversity in patient care that gastroenterology provides, from the variety of interesting diseases to the spectrum of procedures and patient care. I am drawn to the balance of preventive care and treatment to help my patients. I love that I am able to establish lasting relationships with my patients and manage their digestive health over time.
Do you have a focus/specialty within GI?
I enjoy all aspects of gastroenterology with a particular interest in GI oncology and pancreaticobiliary disorders.
What can patients expect?
I am grateful for the opportunity to help my patients achieve well-being in their health.
Outside of the Office
I enjoy spending time with my family, being active in the outdoors, trying new restaurants and traveling.

First time meeting him and he was more that I could have hoped for! Very thorough and took a lot of time explaining things to me and answering all of my questions and concerns. So glad I found him!
He seemed to really care about what is going on with me.
My experiences with the medical team was superb with the exception of an employee named “Vanessa.”
I believe she is one of the prep nurses who calls the patient to inform them about the required diet before the procedure. This woman called me and she was mean, rude, angry, overbearing and overly demanding. Particularly, when I tried to explain that my transportation was being provided by a paid third party and I didn’t know if that gave me the flexibility to simply change schedules because she insisted on it. Her customer service / patient skills were abysmal.
Other than my experience with her, everyone else there I met was great! I think highly of Dr. Cho and the entire medical staff there.

Every one was at the top of their game and I particularly appreciated the very thorough explanation Dr. Cho provided in regards to my condition.

I absolutely just love the team and Dr. Cho. He has one of the kindest "bedside" manners I've ever known. He has proven to be , not only knowledgeable, but a true humanitarian in his right. Dr. Cho is wonderful. Explained the procedure in detail and what was expected. He is very knowledgeable. His staff was always and lead the way without any hesitation. From start to finish, Dr. Cho and his team were with me.

Dr. Cho is a splendid Dr. He takes the time to answer questions and ensures that the information he conveys is understood. He is supremely patient, kind, and considerate. One of the best doctors I have ever had.

Everyone was professional, courteous, and very detailed about the procedure. I felt taken care of.
The experience was very good. The entire medical team was compassionate, gentle and caring from the point of check in to recovery. And even post procedure followup to make sure I was doing okay after the appointment. My only other comment is around the testing results. I havent heard from the team yet. I know in most cases no news is good news but it would just offer another level of comfort to hear directly from the Doctor.
Dr.Cho is very easy to talk to and listens carefully and thoughfully about my concerns. Him and his staff are great! Made me feel comfortable and at ease. Highly recommend Dr.Cho for any of your GI concerns
