Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

Gastroenterology is the perfect combination of clinical medicine and surgery. It allows me to use my brain to diagnose medical conditions and to use my hands to perform the procedures patients need.

Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?

I enjoy the wide variety of disease seen in a general gastroenterology practice including esophageal disorders, ulcer disease, Barrett’s, biliary and colon problems. I love that I have the opportunity to see patients both in the clinic and in the hospital. I have a special interest in providing care to young adults and helping them transition from a pediatric to adult practice.

Where did you study?

I did my undergraduate training at The University of Arizona, where I was on the Women’s Swimming team all 4 years and was Co-Captain my senior year (Go Cats!). I graduated from medical school at The University of Louisville School of Medicine. My residency training was a dual Internal Medicine- Pediatrics program at The University of Minnesota. I practiced in Fairbanks, Alaska for 8 years before returning to Dallas to complete my Gastroenterology Fellowship at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. I am happy to now call Fort Worth my home.

What certifications do you hold?

Board Certified in Gastroenterology

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?

My children and I love to travel and spend time with our family and friends. We spend a lot of time at sporting events – our own and watching college and professional teams play. My kids especially love the TCU football games. We also treasure the quiet weekends when we don’t have any scheduled activities.

Alert: Phone Scam Warning

We’re seeing an increase in phone scams targeting patients. Callers may pose as Medicare, your doctor’s office, or another healthcare provider to obtain your Medicare number or other personal information.

Please remember:

  • Never share your Medicare number, Social Security number, or banking information with unsolicited callers.
  • Medicare will never call you unexpectedly to request your number or personal details.
  • Be wary of offers for “free” medical equipment or services in exchange for your Medicare information.
  • If a call seems suspicious, hang up and contact the clinic where you receive care directly using the phone number listed on our website for that location.

To report a suspicious call: Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or visit reportfraud.ftc.gov.
