Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

In Gastroenterology there is a blend of intellectual stimulation to problem solving conditions of internal medicine with the added advantage of interventional procedures. This will assist in the management of multiple digestive diseases in an area of rapid changing technology.

Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?

It is important for me to provide quality care with a personal approach to the diagnostic treatment and prevention of variety of gastroenterological conditions in particular colon cancer screening, esophageal reflux, non-surgical treatment of hemorrhoidal conditions.

Medical School: Universidad Nacional de El Salvador, Internal Medicine
Residency: (Chief Resident) University of Rochester, New York
GI Fellowship: Baylor College of Medicine Houston Texas.

What certifications do you hold?

Board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with the grandchildren, travel, listening classical music, collecting Pre-Colombian Art, and enjoy the outdoors as well motorcycle riding around the world (i.e. hobbies, interests).

Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?

Past President of Texas Gulf Coast GI Society, Past President of the Salvadorian Society of Gastroenterology. Past President Texas Gulf Coast GI Society. Past President Harris County Medical Society Southwestern Branch and Named Best Doctors of America multiple years.

Do you fluently speak any other languages in addition to English?

Yes, Spanish.
