Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
GI offers a unique combination of the cerebral side of internal medicine with the procedural side of surgery. We get to practice in the best of both worlds as we take care of patients.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife, a local pediatrician, and our two young sons.

I'm a retired healthcare provider, so the standards for my own personal providers is really high. Dr. Houston, his staff and the good folks at the endoscopy center in Keller met and surpassed all of my expectations.
He is incredibly kind and personable. He explained everything very well (I was in the neurosurgery world, so I don't know a lot about the GI world!). The procedure was easy peasy and completely uneventful. My friend, Ryan Pond, CRNA, did my anesthetic and he did a superb job.
I couldn't recommend this doctor and his entire team more highly. Thanks for practicing competent, caring medicine!! RJ

99% of the individuals I dealt with where amazing. There was the one percent or that could use retraining and that’s OK.

The facility is really clean and organize and I was treated with the outmost respect and actually with white gloves. Everyone introduced themselves to me and explained everything that they were going to do. Doctor Houston came after I recovered from the anesthesia to check on me and explained the findings.

Dr. Houston truly has the best bedside manner a doctor can have! He listens intently to you , he cares about you, he takes his time with you, he is extremely professional in every way and speaks to you as if you are a friend! He truly makes you feel like you are his only patient for the day! I wish I could give him a million stars as 5 is not enough for Dr. Houston!!!
