Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
GI offers a unique combination of the cerebral side of internal medicine with the procedural side of surgery. We get to practice in the best of both worlds as we take care of patients.

Colon cancer screening and advanced therapeutic endoscopy.

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife, a local pediatrician, and our two young sons.

The office was prompt and professional. Dr Houston answered all of my questions with detailed explanations.
99% of the individuals I dealt with where amazing. There was the one percent or that could use retraining and that’s OK.
I'm a retired healthcare provider, so the standards for my own personal providers is really high. Dr. Houston, his staff and the good folks at the endoscopy center in Keller met and surpassed all of my expectations. He is incredibly kind and personable. He explained everything very well (I was in the neurosurgery world, so I don't know a lot about the GI world!). The procedure was easy peasy and completely uneventful. My friend, Ryan Pond, CRNA, did my anesthetic and he did a superb job. I couldn't recommend this doctor and his entire team more highly. Thanks for practicing competent, caring medicine!! RJ
Great office and staff. Everyone is so helpful, happy, and busy! The nurses were so friendly and professional. They have perfected their process and were so efficient. Dr. Houston is thorough, communicative, knowledgeable, and funny. I appreciate the wonderful beside manners. Was recommended to him by a few friends and highly recommend.
