Dr. Matthew Meriwether chose to specialize in Gastroenterology in order to care for patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal conditions. Dr. Meriwether loves that the field combines an evolving understanding of the vital importance of the GI system on overall health with cutting-edge endoscopic treatments. He always strives to develop a personalized plan for each patient and work with them to achieve better health.
At home, Dr. Meriwether enjoys all sports and loves experiencing the outdoors with his growing family. He also enjoys helping his wife with furniture restoration projects, tending the garden, or just relaxing with a good book.

The receptionists all gave contrary and confusing information for prep and poor directions to the facility. Other than that, everything else was a great experience!

I had a first visit for a routine procedure with Dr. Meriwether. He said it was too early and requested records from my past doctor. The staff promptly called me to let me know my routine procedure is due next year. They all are friendly, professional and timely! I love my new doctor!

It was the first time meeting and we had a frank discussion about my history and the risks associated with the tests. We agreed on doing the tests and accepting the risks.
Dr. M was very professional and looks really young so at first I was a little hesitant. He did his work I had no issues with the procedure and he got me the meds I needed so that I have no issues later.
I would recommend Dr. Meriwether due to his caring bedside manner, listened to my concerns and explained my procedures in detail. Since moving to TX several years ago I have not been impressed with some health care providers in my area but I can’t say that about Dr. Meriwether, he is an excellent doctor.
