Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
The field of gastroenterology provides me with the opportunity to diagnose and treat a broad scope of conditions. I truly enjoy helping others and appreciate the privilege to be in a profession where I can participate in the personal care of my patients.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I have a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease and liver-related conditions.

I enjoy spending time with my wife and our families. I also enjoy playing soccer, hiking, traveling and outdoor activities.

Dr. Malakouti is just awesome. He’s very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. He makes sure to take time and diagnose you well. Recently I had Endoscopy and Colonoscopy procedures, it couldn’t go any better. If you’re looking for a gastroenterology specialist I highly recommend him.

If you have to do this procedure, this is absolutely the Dr. and staff that you want! Besides doing everything efficiently and making sure you know exactly what is going to happen, they are all the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Be sure to ask Dr. Malakouti all your questions before the procedure. They are so quick that you will still be groggy when he comes in for results and will be on to the next patient by the time you are coherent.
