Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

Since the beginning of my clinical training, gastrointestinal disorders have always fascinated me. Every disease and patient presentation is unique and requires a dynamic management approach. I truly enjoy getting to know my patients and creating a comprehensive yet focused treatment plan.

Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?

While I enjoy all aspects of gastroenterology, my special interests include gastrointestinal motility disorders, specifically esophageal and anorectal disorders. This consists of conditions such as refractory heartburn and constipation, post-esophageal surgery syndromes, pelvic floor dysfunction and fecal incontinence.

Where did you study?

I completed my undergraduate studies at Drexel University. I then completed Medical School at Ross University School of Medicine. Thereafter, I returned to Drexel University College of Medicine to complete my internship, residency and fellowship training. During my fellowship, I completed additional training in motility disorders.

What certifications do you hold?

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, cooking, strength training and most of all spending time with my husband and son.

Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?

I am a published author in a number of journals and have presented research at several professional society meetings both locally and nationally.

Do you fluently speak any other languages in addition to English?

I am fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
