Take Steps Walk Benefiting Crohn’s & Colitis Research Set for March 30

TDDC patients, employees and friends are invited to join us in Houston for the Take Steps Walk, organized by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. The annual event raises awareness and much-needed funding for Crohn’s and colitis research.

Two TDDC groups — Greater Houston Gastroenterology and Bay Area Gastroenterology — will participate together. Dr. Keith Fiman  is a chairman this year, and TDDC is sponsoring the event. TDDC employees, patients, friends and family are invited to participate with the TDDC team.

Take Steps Event Details

The 2019 walk is set for 8 a.m., Saturday, March 30 at the Houston Zoo, located at 6200 Hermann Park Drive. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. Participants are encouraged to stay around after the walk for more festivities from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Participants are also welcome to stay at the zoo for free the rest of the day.

The Take Steps program is one of many ways the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation raises funding for research for cures. Raising money through events like these requires a team commitment, and the money that’s raised fuels research efforts, advances treatments, and supports patient education.

Join the TDDC Team

Go to the TDDC team page to register. Next, you will be asked to create  your personal page. Your friends, family and supporters can make donations to either the TDDC team page, or to your personal page. If you raise at least $100 through your own page, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation  will give a T-shirt. They also offer other incentives as you continue to raise money for the cause.

Can’t Participate, But Want to Contribute?

If you can’t attend the walk, you can still help with fundraising. Simply register on the TDDC team page and make a contribution. Each member that you plan to have participate in the walk must register on the page individually.

This year’s TDDC team goal is $2,500, so we encourage participants to share the link with friends and family who might be interested in supporting the cause.

Lace up those running shoes, and let’s Take Steps together!
