Why did you choose to specialize in Pathology?

I chose pathology because I relished the direct visualization of diseases I studied earlier in medical school, and the fulfillment of rendering an accurate diagnosis that will help patients get the treatment they need.

Do you have a specialty of interest within Pathology?

Gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology, soft tissue pathology.

Medical School: University of Damascus, Syria.
Residency: Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital (AP/CP).
Fellowship: The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Gastrointestinal, hepatic and pancreatobiliary pathology).
